• Wrote more
than 1,100 stories, averaging six stories each week. Stories included
breaking news, features and beat coverage, often under tight deadline
for afternoon daily newspaper (circulation 11,000). Beat coverage included
city hall, schools and Michigan Technological University. Often took digital
photos for stories.
• Produced page
layouts on a weekly basis for the news section using QuarkXPress. Called
upon by editors to help train editors and reporters in pagination and
design techniques.
• Part of a three-person
team updating content on newspaper's Web site using Macromedia Dreamweaver.
